Gently tiptoeing with a smile

Around my senses, oh for a while

What makes you feel so welcomed
Wandering freely yet, in me bound

Fool that I am I failed to see
I let yourself into me
I could set you free
But should I? My love, my liege

Would you linger on and make my life?
I beseech you
Even if it's a part of you - just a slice
Cos without you it's empty, don't bid adieu
Left alone - me and my mental strife.

A star is shining bright tonight
The heavens are decked up in its best
The world envies, friends rejoice
I look up the sky and it seems to hide in shame
For the star is amidst is, illuminating joy

May your year be of realizations, and your dreams just as well
For you deserve all that and more

I am glad I am by your side as you step into another glorious year
a year of dreams and hope
Thank you for being you, for being this beautiful person that you are.
May your smile curb your sorrows at bay
May you live a life that's so meaningful
So I may vicariously dwell in your happiness
One that radiates like the rainbow

A life worth living
Happy birthday Tejas!

Your memories behind you've left
My mind body soul handcuffed
How can I go on knowing that
Life of me is with you in debt
In a conundrum of chances
None favoring my wishes
But in your memory I will relish
Those things I live for
And then in your fond reminisce, perish..

Myriad dreams, rat race of a life
Too little time, but options rife

Few things make it worth the while
All through tough times, bitter & vile

I love you, cos you make life sweeter..
Shy though that I am - less said the better!

When I think of you
I think of the shape of clouds
When they spread themselves for me
For us
When we spend endless nights
Drinking our lives in glasses of hope
Of dreams..
I now go back
With just the clouds with me
Spreading itself for me
I see you
I see us
In it
And when I miss you
When a tear rolls down my eye
I look up to the clouds
And say, you own me
You own my life
My world
I share a part of me
If not all of me
With you
Only you
For nobody loves me as you do
And I as you
I love you!

Henry Nelson O'Neil, Woman In Love - 1856

Come, sit next to me
Read aloud a story
Of a girl and let she be free
Of grief and of misery

Come, touch my face
With those fingers of grace
Let the story be sung with a gaze
Of this beautiful morning haze

Come, be one with me and you
Know its melancholic not to
Feel you under my skin
Its true
For I think we’re one, never two!

The room - now empty without you
Sweet melancholy they say, must be true!

Look by your side when you walk out that door,
A part of me will be found walking too!

Misery! Oh the misery of a play that's ending.
A reality that goes amiss and emotions descending.

Though the audience know not of what goes on my mind,
I just seek solace in their remarks - mostly condescending!

I wish and hope I pass on the words I am intending.
Oh grief! Take me back into the actor's shoes,
in this reality, pain is impending!

to bring melody and harmony
just hang in there with many
hopes for the melancholic impasse!

Words are empty
when I want to
tell you, how it feels
to say 'I love you'

I love you, I really do.
Cliches are  not for me.
So what if I don't say it;
that you mean the world to me.

Strolling in a distant land..
With myself hand in hand..

Wishing it lingers in my mind..
When I retreat to the grind..

PAVA

A story traverses a long and arduous road
To get to you, to weave a colorful abode
In your mind, that makes you laugh, think
Pushes you to an emotional brink

I have a story to tell, it’s a part of me
Of growing up, of hurt, and glee
I hope it moves you, makes you love
The modesties of life we’re devoid of

My story is promenading your way
Would you lend your ear, would you stay?
You will soon realize it is not my tale
But yours, I am just a narrator in veil.

So join hands with me in this attempt
To experience a story – pray gaffes be exempt.
Lives change with a single story – its true
It changed mine; I hope it changes yours too!

A fence separates two lives
One this way and the other that way

What do you see?
An ocean of possibility, or an end of human stay!

Caspar Netscher - Young Girl Holding a Letter

Unfulfilled

Love walks away
To become someone else’s
Solitude so grave
No hope, not even traces.

Love comes around
When life loses the game
Making the self bound
To jokes & miseries just the same.

Giving up on you, on hope
Love, don’t bind me to you
This fall seems tough to cope
A fatal abyss, survivors too few.

Vita Brevis!

Illusions, surreal as they come;
Embraced a newfangled tangent;
When he strode in like a lightning,
And eluded like a star so distant.

The time with him around,
Have become fragments of me.
Manifesting into little chunks,
And etched in doting memory.

Prayers fail me even as I vainly try
To seize that moment of bliss
While I watch him in rapture
Let myself want to passionately kiss

I have a confession to make, I am
Guilty of an unblemished sensation!
Of adoration, desire and superlative love
A feeling so poignant I felt with none

I want to clinch it and make it my own
But I must be a fool to cage the breeze
So I will seek solace in my musing
By writing ballads like these!

For Magnifico, Felicidades!

Moments - they own us.

It’s the year of gloom and the day’s morbid

Never morning enough, clouds – they forbid

The mood is on the brink – of an imprecise dawn

Chugging on like a mundane mover in lawn

Sanity is in the black – grief is at peak.

All is fine with the world – not but with me.

Distorted Nihilism

I want to sleep..
I want to sleep and dream a dream
of falling asleep and dreaming.

I want to laugh..
I want to laugh at myself, my laughter
and laugh at the thought.

I want to live
I want to live a life and be immortal
and die to prove me wrong.

That thing called love!

Strolling in these crowded streets
Wandering through memories
The tune of love within
Subdues all those without

Angst filled void around
Unmindful pain – baffling and novel
See that familiar face around – no surprise
People are but objects reflecting the mind

Unbeknownst – love struck me
And now I am clearly unsure
What joy, what pain – what more?
They say its fatal – but its poetry obscure.

The emotional dissonance – is that right?
A void that is tediously strong
How do I speak my mind – confess the love
I fear end would win me over, before long.

Gap – the gap – this gap between…
Would cocoon worlds' entirety
The gap between the lips, longer still
If sealed, once sealed – chime unity

I could sing ballads of love
But I am a lifetime shy to be a poet
I speak my plight in vain hope
Of being one – with you, just for a moment

Virtues will be restored
And boons have been bestowed
If the night unfolds with you beside me,
- My man of gold!
